Good morning everyone
I have another Christmas make to share with you today, this time a card.
Products used:
6-inch white linen texture card blank
ultra smooth white cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Broken China, Spun Sugar and Pumice Stone
Penny Black Cling Stamp - Christmas Story (40-164)
Craftwork Cards Clear Stamp Set - Christmas Cheer Sentiments
Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink
Imagination Crafts Stencil - Sparkles
Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium Sparkle Gel
snowflake dies from two sets: Sizzix/Hero Arts Stamp & Die-Cut Sets Reindeer (657780) and Snowflakes #2 (658622)
I began by applying the two colours of distress ink to a square of white card, blending them until I was happy. These are probably my two favourite colours of distress and lend themselves perfectly to a more contemporary Christmas colour palette.
Next, I stamped the text background using the Broken China distress ink and the Penny Black stamp.
I applied the stencil design to the card using Pumice Stone and Broken China distress inks. Then I applied a layer of Imagination Crafts Sparkle Medium Sparkle Gel to the stencil and left it to dry.
I took another smaller piece of white card and stamped my sentiment words using the Craftwork Cards stamp set and archival ink. Then I inked up the card using Broken China and Spun Sugar blend and once cut out, went round the edges of the four words with Pumice Stone.
To make my snowflakes I inked up another piece of white card with Broken China and Spun Sugar and then applied a layer of the Sparkle Gel all over and left it to dry, thus creating my own custom-colour glitter card. Have you done this? How satisfying to have glitter cardstock which totally ties in with your chosen colour scheme! Once the sparkle gel was dry I die cut my snowflakes and adhered them to the card.
Lastly I added a clear rhinestone to the centre of the largest snowflake.
I love how this card came together, such a simple but elegant design, in the contemporary colours I love. Now I just have to decide who to send it to!
That's all for now, thanks for visiting and I'd love to hear from you in the comments box.
Keep warm!
Julie x
